Professional Learning 2016

The Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians, the foundation from which all Australian Curriculum documents are drawn, states its aim that all young Australians become successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens. In particular, the Declaration acknowledges the need to nurture an appreciation of and respect for social, cultural and religious diversity, and a sense of global citizenship. 

As a result, there is a strong focus on global citizenship throughout all key policy documents including the National Quality Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum. Global perspectives resonate throughout the Australian Curriculum disciplines and in particular through the General Capabilities and Cross- Curriculum Priorities.

In 2016, the Global Learning Centre is offering both public and tailor-made workshops highlighting the global perspectives in all relevant policy and curriculum documents. Workshops, resources and professional support and guidance have been developed for educators in the following areas:
